Biography
Born in Stuttgart on January 1, 1976, Maja Schone began her acting career in the German TV movie Schluss mit lustig, going on to feature in several Friedrich Schiller plays. She began developing interest in acting while on internship in a local theater after graduating from high school.
Before venturing into acting, Schöne studied at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum, completing the program in 2001. Her excellent stagecraft did not take long to be recognised in the industry as she received the Young Talent Promotion Award from the Friends of the German Playhouse in February, 2002. She has received many nominations and awards since then.
Maja Schöne’s performance on Dark (a Netflix series) has drawn plaudits from fans and critics alike. Her character in the series is Hannah Kahnwald, and Shone’s excellent portrayal of this character is what endeared her to lots of people outside of Germany.
