Aubameyang has 2 Premier League goals after 11 matches!
Arsenal striker Pierre Aubameyang is a player with undoubted qualities but he has not been at his best this season, and his poor run of form is a major headache to both manager Mikel Arteta, and Arsenal fans. He has scored just 1 league goal signing a contract extension with the North London club on September 15.
“I feel like I belong here. I believe in Arsenal” said Aubameyang upon signing a new three years deal.
The strikers form prior to that had been nothing short of outstanding. He scored both goals in the FA cup semi final as Arsenal beat Manchester City 2-0. They went on to win the finals, with Auba also scoring twice against Chelsea in a 2-1 victory. In the Community Shield match against Liverpool – the curtain-raiser for the new season – the Gabonese was also on target.
However, this season has not been going as he and everyone else would have expected. Majority of fantasy football players had Aubameyang in their fantasy team and many had captained him coming into the 2020/21 season. But, after 11 rounds of fixtures, the former Borussia Dortmund striker is yet to return the goods. Just the 2 goals and 1 assist is all that has come from his revered boots.
Batman is certainly having the worst lean period in his prolific career according to statistics. His poor form also means Arsenal are closer to the relegation zone than they are to the top 4. The Gunners currently occupy 15th place on the Premier League table.
