Chelsea have reportedly tabled an improved bid for Inter Milan defender Achraf Hakimi. The Blues are also thought to be considering a player + cash swap deal.
Despite finishing the just concluded season as Champions League winners, The Blues are looking to consolidate their squad ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. The goal is to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title whilst competing at the highest level in Europe.
Thomas Tuchel is hoping to bring in a potent striker to add to Timo Werner’s pace, and to add better options in midfield and the wingback role, preferably a right-wing-back that can fit into the German’s favoured 3-4-3 system.
Chelsea eye £51.5m move for Achraf Hakimi
According to reports in Italy, Chelsea have table a £43 million bid plus Emerson Palmieri for Inter Milan’s Archaf Hakim.
The West Londoners are also considering adding Davide Zappacosta or Tammy Abraham should Inter insist on an improved bid.
Hakimi is one of Europe’s most sought after wingbacks after a stellar campaign with Internazionale under Antonio Conte. The Moroccan wingback only joined Nezzazuri a year ago but the club could be tempted to cash in due to prevailing financial issues.
