8 Scholarships In Europe For International Students

Scholarships are always helpful, especially if you’re planning to study abroad in Europe, which tends to be more expensive than in other parts of the world.

Scholarships can help offset tuition costs and give you some extra cash in your pocket to help make your overseas adventure more comfortable, but unfortunately, it’s not easy to find them! Fortunately, I’ve done all the legwork for you and uncovered these 8 scholarships available to international students studying in Europe. All you have to do is apply!

  1. ETH Zurich Excellence Masters Scholarships

The Excellence Masters Scholarship is a competitive program funded by the ETH Board of Trustees. It is open to outstanding international students who wish to pursue an Excellence Master at ETH Zurich.

The Excellence Masters Scholarship includes a full tuition waiver and an annual stipend of CHF 20,000. Recipients are not required to pay tuition fees or have any other formal obligations to their home institution during their stay in Switzerland.

They can also receive additional financial support from their home institutions if they do not already have access to sufficient funds for personal living costs, travel expenses, or course-related books and equipment.

  1. Erasmus Mundus Master Course Scholarship

The Erasmus Mundus Master Course Scholarship is an opportunity for international students to study a master’s course at one of the European universities.

The scholarship covers the total cost of tuition fees and living expenses during the period of study abroad.

Applicants must have completed their Bachelor’s degree before they are eligible to apply. They should also be studying at least two disciplines: engineering, sciences, economics, business administration, or social sciences.

  1. Emile Boutmy Scholarships For Non-EU Students At Sciences Po

The Emile Boutmy Scholarships for Non-EU Students at Sciences Po are available to students outside the European Union.

These scholarships are open to all fields of study and offer a monthly stipend of €1,000. They also cover housing, health insurance, and tuition fees. One must not be eligible for any other scholarship to qualify for this one.

Applications will only be accepted through online submission. Applicants must have good knowledge of French before applying, as they must write an essay and submit it with their application.

  1. Radboud Scholarship Programme For International Students

The Radboud Scholarship Programme for International Students offers scholarships to excellent international students from all over the world.

The program aims to attract excellent and highly-motivated students keen on studying at Radboud University, Netherlands. The deadline is 15 October 2017, and awardees will start their studies in September 2022.

It has a maximum grant of €3,500 per year; applicants should have high grades in university entrance exams such as the ACT or SATs.

Other requirements include academic excellence and motivation to study. Applicants must be 18 years old by 1 September 2022.

  1. British Council Chevening Scholarship

The British Council Chevening Scholarship is open to anyone who meets the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of a Commonwealth country or Ireland and not hold dual citizenship of any other country. -Be no more than 32 years old at the time of application. -Hold an offer of full-time study in any field at the postgraduate level from an institution in the UK.
  • Have good academic achievement with either an upper second-class honors degree (2:1) from an institution in the UK or international equivalent or excellent academic performance evidenced by a first-class bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) from an institution in the UK or international equivalent.
  • Plan to return home after their studies are complete, with evidence that they will have what it takes to succeed in public service work.
  • Provide evidence that they have spent time studying or working abroad in the past few years.

Demonstrate how the scholarship would support them during their studies, such as paying for tuition fees, living expenses, and travel costs.

  1. The European Commission Jean Monnet Fellowships

The European Commission Jean Monnet Fellowships target young professionals and academics, focusing on cultural diversity.

The fellows will be allowed to develop their professional and personal skills by living in another EU Member State for up to one year.

Up to 20 fellowships are available annually for an estimated 1-2 months. Applicants must have completed at least three years of higher education (including postgraduate degrees).

Good knowledge of English requires proficiency in at least two languages French, German, Italian, or Spanish.

Applications must be made before 15th December 20222, and applicants should expect to find out whether they have been successful between 1st March 2023 and 31st May 2023.

  1. EPFL Excellence Fellowships

It is a one-year, full-time residential program for outstanding science and international engineering students. EPFL Excellence Fellowships are designed to provide international students with an excellent opportunity to study in Switzerland and obtain first-hand experience with the Swiss research and educational system.

The program will take place from October 20222. Candidates must have completed their undergraduate degree and be at least 22 years old by October 1, 2022.

  1. Utrecht Excellence Scholarships For International Students

The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship is designed for highly motivated international students who want to study the world’s most innovative and excellent education in Utrecht.

The scholarship covers tuition fees, and living costs up to € 12,000 annually. If you’re an international student from a developing country, you can apply for a scholarship from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGIS).

The DAFI scholarship program supports talented students from developing countries enrolled at Dutch universities.
