It is just two games into his PSG career but Sergio Ramos has already seen red in a Paris shirt.
Paris St Germain’s was sent off late on in their 1–1 draw with Lorient on Wednesday night. The Parisians need a last minute Mauro Icardi equalizer to salvage a point at lowly Lorient.
Despite that late Icardi heroics, it is veteran defender Sergio Ramos who makes the headlines for albeit for the wrong reasons. The PSG centre back was shown a yellow card for a high boot on a Lorient player. Minutes after that, Ramos illegally stopped a Lorient break for which the referee produced a second yellow and of course a red!
The sight of Ramos getting sent sparked reactions online as Netizens where quick to look back into the record books. So another competition, another red card for Sergio Ramos who currently hold the record for most carded player in La Liga, El Clasico, the Champions League, Spain and at Real Madrid!
Regarded as one of the best central defenders of his generation, Ramos has had a stellar career. He’s won the World Cup and Euro with Spain, and numerous club trophies with Real Madrid. However, the 34-year old has a reputation of playing dirty. Ramos is an expert in defending but when he is beaten, he doesn’t hesitate to use dark arts. His encounter with Mo Salah back in the 2018 UCL finals easily comes to mind. However getting carded or sent off is not the only record Ramos holds, he has some good records too. Like being the highest scoring defender in Real Madrid and La Liga history.
New club, same Ramos sees red again

With Sergio Ramos switching to PSG last summer, it was only a matter of when and not if he will get red carded. It didn’t take him long though 😃 . Two yellows and one red to the good in his PSG career. Sergio Ramos has now received 27 red cards in his professional career. He is a legend in these things!
How many red cards will Ramos have in PSG and Ligue 1. Can you guess?
