Borrusia Dortmund midfielder Jadon Sancho could be allowed to leave the club this summer. The Englishman has been the subject of many transfer rumours and speculations since last year, but could now be on the way out of the Signal Iduna Park after sporting director, Micheal Zorc lift the lid on the player’s situation.
According to Zorc, Sancho could leave Dortmund if certain criteria are met.
“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon Sancho since last year that he can leave the club under certain conditions”, Zorc told ARD.
Zorc did not disclose the exact conditions under which Sancho would be allowed to leave. He did however clarify that this agreement does not apply to Erling Haaland (another subject of many transfer rumours).
“However, this agreement does not exist with Erling Haaland” Zorc said.
One of those conditions would be if a good bid was made for the player.
21 years old Sancho is a key player for Dortmund however, and would have to play a pivotal role as the club looks to secure Champion League qualifications for next seasons.
Should the Englishman be allowed to leave Dortmund this summer, Manchester City are one of the clubs who could land him. The Etihad outfit are keen to sign Sancho and make him a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
City would have to act fast, and also outbid their Manchester neighbors, Man United who have also on the player’s trail for a while now.
Even though, Man City and United are favourites to sign Sancho, these are all speculations though as several transfer twist in the coming window could see him head to Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain or even Chelsea. You never can tell. So many things to look forward to this summer transfer window opens.
